Strand on the Green Junior School

Sports Premium Funding

At Strand we believe PE & Sport plays an important role in school life and has the potential to change young people’s lives for the better.  In essence we want to have happy healthy children who love to learn and make an active contribution to their community.

Through PE & Sport our children learn to develop the important qualities of discipline, resilience, communication, team work, and ambition, leading to improved concentration, attitude, and academic achievement.

We have welcomed the Government’s funding commitment to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. We are committed to using this resource in developing high quality PE lessons, alongside greater opportunities for sporting competitions and clubs for all our young people

Sport Premium Grant – How are we Spending It?

Strand uses the Sport Premium Grant to fund our partnership with 'Sport Impact'. Sport Impact are a not for profit organisation committed to enhancing the physical education and sport experience of all young people. We use 'Sport Impact' alongside our specialist PE team to ensure we give our children a great sports offer.
