Spirited, Scholarly, Supportive and now Strong!
Our most recent Ofsted inspection was under the new Ofsted Report Card system, and we are proud to announce that Strand Juniors achieved the "Strong Standard" across all 6 core evaluation areas.
Ofsted has replaced the old single-word grades ("Good" or "Outstanding") with a more detailed five-point scale. The new report cards award six separate judgements against this scale, one in each inspection area. The judgements are colour-coded for clarity.
The "Strong Standard" is a new, higher benchmark that recognises ‘excellent, consistent work that makes a real difference for pupils’.
The report hilighted our ambition for all pupils to achieve their best saying ‘leaders are relentless in their ambition to ensure all pupils achieve well.’ It was wonderful to see the report recognise that our ‘pupils produce high-quality work across a range of subjects which they are proud of’ and ‘develop the skills to be independent and resilient learners'.
Equal recognition was given to our committment to personal development and wellbeing, highlighting that 'behaviour expectations are high and consistently applied' whilst acknowledging that pupils 'work hard and show sustained attention' and 'look out for one another and work together with genuine care.'
Great quotes that perfectly encapsulate our Spirited, Scholarly and Supportive Strandites!

Music Inspection
As part of the subject survey inspection programme Strand also had a Music Inspection. Our music provision was judged to be good in all areas. The report said many great things about our Music provision including recognising the very high standards our children achieve.
By the end of Year 6, pupils’ attainment is above average and in some aspects, for example, in performing on African drums, it is outstanding. Pupils sing accurately and confidently with clear diction and well-projected tone quality, both in unison and in parts. All pupils in Year 3 Take part in whole -class instrumental lessons, which complement their learning in other music lessons."
