Year 3 Trip to Kew Gardens
Excitement was in the air on Wednesday when Year 3 visited Kew Gardens to help answer the big question of their science unit “What do plants need to thrive?”. It was fantastic to see how much of their knowledge of the functions of different parts of a plant, pollination and seed dispersal was at their fingertips. Seeing how thousands of plant species adapt to different environments, and how many amazing uses they have, also made us reflect on how important it is that we all do our bit to help our environment thrive. This wonderful setting clearly inspired everybody's artistic skills too; it was great to record observations in our sketch books. Thank you to all the parents who accompanied us on the hottest day of the year so far; your support is much appreciated.
