Red Nose Day
As usual Strand celebrated Red Nose Day with a vast array of activities.
We finished the morning with Strand’s GotTalent! The school had been ringing with laughter as the year group heats took place to see which acts had the honour of representing their year in the final of this morning’s show. The Year 3 winners, Lianna and Oscar, had us all in stitches with their jokes and deadpan delivery and impeccable comic timing. From Year 4 Ayrton wowed us with his rendition of the One Direction classic “What makes you beautiful” on his guitar. Meanwhile the Year 5 offering was from Sofia, Jessica and Helen who performed a self-penned sock puppet classic featuring Sherlock Holmes solving a tricky crime, it was hilarious. The final act was Noa from Year 6 who silenced the crowd with his superb guitar pieces; truly stunning. Well done to all who took part – it took real courage.
Mr Thorne and Miss Reid have been busy selling tickets all week to see which teacher would be taking part in the obstacle race – whilst being pelted with water balloons. Staff had been getting more worried by the moment as the box in reception filled up! It was a neck and neck race but the ultimate winners (?) were Mr Ash and Mr Caton. The lucky class who pelted them with balloons were 6H after showing off their sporting knowledge in the Olympic Quiz.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our Red Nose Day celebrations, your efforts helped us to raise £664 for a great cause. The tab will remain open onSchool Spider until Monday if you want to donate. You can always rely on a Strandite to ‘Do Something Funny For Money’! Thank you to the PE Team who organised today’s festivities.
