OFSTED visit
Last week was a busy week but this week has been even busier as we were visited by OFSTED on Tuesday and Wednesday. The OFSTED team, led by Sam Johnson, HMI, left school on Wednesday, and we are returning to normal after the excitement of having three special visitors out and about in the school. The inspectors watched lessons, observed playtime and lunchtime, spoke to pupils in the lunch hall, met with our young leaders, spoke to pupils in year 5 and 6 as well as spending lots of time learning about the school from staff. The children (and staff!) were exemplary, showing off their fantastic skills and talents. The team were very complimentary - and so they should be about such a brilliant group of children – about the #spirited, #scholarly and #supportive Strandites they met. Thank you to all the parents who spared a moment to fill in the parent questionnaire, encouraged their children to do the same, spoke to the inspectors before and after school and checked in with staff to see how the inspection was going. Your support was very much appreciated. We were inspected under the new framework which no longer has one word judgements but instead gives parents a scorecard with each of the 6 focus areas individually graded. The report should be with us in about a month, so watch this space!
