Idling Action Event
As part of our commitment to making the environment around the school as healthy as possible for our children, we are holding an Anti-Idling event on 8th October to encourage drivers (and ice cream vans!) to turn off their engines to cut their emissions. This is a Mayor of London-funded project which is now in its third year. It's running in 18 boroughs across London and we are working with our colleagues in Hounslow council to bring this vital message to Strand. Colleagues from the environmental strategy unit will be holding a special assembly for the children before being on the gates at the end of the day, talking to parents about air quality and idling, and asking idling drivers to switch off. We are looking for some adult volunteers to be trained to continue to spread the message. If you are interested then please contact Ruth Woods via the office.
