Football Frenzy

On Tuesday evening Strand took a team of Year 5/6 footballers to Chiswick Community School for the Borough finals qualifying tournament. Games were played against St Marys, Belmont, Cavendish, Grove Park and William Hogarth. A positive start saw Strand win 4-0 over Grove Park with goals coming from all over the park. A 1-0 loss against Cavendish in the next game was a bitter pill to swallow as Strand had dominated the match and had had numerous opportunities to win. Two excellent 1-0 wins came next against William Hogarth and Belmont to put us back on track to qualify with David K scoring both goals in these highly contested matches. A win in the final match against St Marys would confirm qualification. A timely hat-trick from Miles ensured the win and qualification (albeit in second place to Cavendish). Well Done to Stan, David, Cameron, Miles, Jake, Aidan, Ronan and Javell. The Borough finals take place next week and we wish the team good luck against the best of Hounslow’s footballers.
