Farewell Year 6
We held the traditional leavers' assembly this morning to say farewell to Year 6 and our colleagues who are moving on. The most hotly anticipated part of the event is revealing the results of the Interhouse competitions which have taken place throughout the year.
The Maths Cup was taken by Green Team, Green Team won the football and netball, Yellow Team the Quiz, Blue Team took frisbee, cricket, dodgeball and the Sports Day Cup with Yellow winning the Team Points Cup which meant that the much coveted Inter House Cup went to – wait for it – Yellow Team. Congratulations to everyone in Yellow Team and to Daniel and Leah who have been great captains this year.
The Strand Special Award went to Hazel and Julia in recognition of the way they exhibit all the qualities we expect in a Strandite, all the while being quietly brilliant – actually Julia is not quiet at all but equally brilliant! Hazel accepted her award but Julia is currently touring Belgium with the Hounslow Brass Band so will get her award later in the week. Congratulations to them both. There were so many children we could have chosen in what has been a great year group packed full of true Strandites.
The Buj Wretham Sporting Trophy was presented by Miss Smith Stevenson, and went to Sofia and Daniel both for their sporting skill and their outstanding sportsmanship. Both Sofia and Daniel have competed at borough level this year, always representing the school with pride and grace.
We also said goodbye to Katy Lambert and Eslyn Davies both whom are starting a new chapter in their lives. We wish them all well. They will be sorely missed.
