Cross Country Success

On Tuesday Strand took 14 of our athletes to Feltham Community College for the Borough Cross Country finals. A bright, fine day eased the very tricky underfoot conditions slightly! Faced with a daunting 2km run, the boys were up first. Jenom and David set the pace for the rest of the team and they managed to finish in 11th and 17th places respectively. Tom F followed in 22nd and Dom S in 27th. The boys' combined efforts meant that the Strand boys team came 4th overall out of 11 teams. Well Done to Jude, Haris, Zaid and Peter for their efforts too. In the girls race Anna and Jasmine B worked as a team to push each other on! They stuck to each all the way and even managed to finish together too in 10th and 11th. Amber S came in a very respectable 15th and Cleo rallied at the end to finish powerfully in 23rd place. Georgia battled against a stitch to finish in 27th place. 3rd place overall was the reward for the girls hard work. Well Done to all involved!
