Strand on the Green Goes Green

Strand launched their new comittment to saving energy by having a Green Day today. The usual sea of red was replaced by a sea of green in assembly and the children had a great afternoon witout power! The grownups struggled without their breaktime cup of tea but it was lovely to see the children enjoying the opportunity to think of ways to permenantly reduce our power usage. Year 5 energy monitors were out and about checking that everything was turned off and pulling out any plugs. Year 5 managed to reduce their usage from 1.36kw p/h to a stunning 0.06kw p/h! These graphs show the dramatic drop off in power usage when the power went off at 1pm.
